Wolfe promoted Burke as a sexy, powerful athlete with a carefully crafted image that was decades ahead of its time. In the early 1940s, he had her photographed in suggestive poses and sent them out in calendars. Through rigorous training, she developed defined muscles (above) that she showcased in tight suits of white satin.
